March 5, 2025 – VTB has recorded a rapid increase in settlements between small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) and self-employed individuals: in 2024, the amount of purchases of goods and services from self-employed clients of the bank exceeded 7.3 billion rubles, which is 4.3 times more than in 2023. The number of transfers in VTB's self-employed payment service also increased 4 times, exceeding 100 thousand transactions.
Popular Services and Leading Regions
According to VTB, among SME clients, the greatest demand for services of the self-employed is observed in the following industries:
- Construction and repair
- Transportation services
- Information Technology
The average check in these categories amounted to 65 thousand rubles. The largest volume of settlements falls on Moscow, the Moscow region, and St. Petersburg. Among other regions where there is a high demand for services of the self-employed, the Republic of Tatarstan, Sverdlovsk and Irkutsk regions, Krasnodar Territory, and Rostov region are the leaders.
Growth of the Self-Employed Audience and Their Activity
In addition to the increase in the number of settlements, the audience of VTB's self-employed personal account has doubled. This service provides users with access to the following features:
- Confirmation of self-employed status.
- Automatic registration of income with the Federal Tax Service.
- Generating checks for clients.
- Using tools for doing business.
More than 130 thousand clients are already using this service, and the number of issued checks for 2024 increased 2 times – almost 300 thousand for the amount of 4.2 billion rubles.

Thanks to convenient digital tools, entrepreneurs can conduct their activities, and companies receive reliable contractors. New Opportunities for the Self-Employed
In 2024, VTB expanded the functionality of settlements with the self-employed, adding the following options:
- Transfers by account details (previously, only payments via SBP by phone number were supported).
- Accepting payments by QR code from clients of any Russian banks via VTB Online.
- Automatic issuance of checks after the payment is made.
The growth in the number of self-employed and the active interaction of business with them reflects a global trend towards flexibility and digitalization of entrepreneurship.
