Microsoft развивает собственные модели искусственного интеллекта

Microsoft is actively developing its own artificial intelligence (AI) models, aiming to reduce dependence on OpenAI technologies and strengthen its position in the AI solutions market. According to The Information, the company is working on creating internal AI models, known as MAI, which are comparable in performance to advanced solutions from OpenAI and Anthropic.

Under the leadership of Mustafa Suleyman, head of AI at Microsoft, the preparation of the MAI family of models has been completed. These models demonstrate high results in generally accepted tests and can be integrated into the company's products, such as Microsoft 365 Copilot. In addition, the possibility of providing access to these models to third-party developers via API by the end of the year is being considered.

Previously, Microsoft had already taken steps to diversify its AI solutions. In December 2024, the company began integrating internal and third-party AI models into Microsoft 365 Copilot, seeking to reduce dependence on GPT-4 from OpenAI and optimize costs. In particular, Phi-4 models were developed to improve the performance and efficiency of the company's products.

Microsoft continues to invest in the development of its own AI technologies, striving to ensure high quality and efficiency of its products. The company plans to further expand the functionality of its AI solutions, offering customers innovative tools to improve productivity and optimize business processes.

The development of its own AI models will allow Microsoft not only to strengthen its position in the market, but also to offer users more flexible and economical solutions that meet the modern requirements and challenges of the digital age.
