Developers can test for free which descriptions, screenshots, and videos work best to attract users. Experiments with app store pages can be launched in the RuStore Console.

With A/B tests, a developer can launch the display of text and graphic design of an app store page to a certain percentage of the audience. The resulting analytics (views, downloads, conversion) will help optimize the app page depending on the audience's reaction. For example, VK Music used A/B tests to optimize images in the app store page for search queries and attracted 10% of the audience.

Oleg Afanasyev, Product Director at RuStore, noted:

A/B experiments with the app store page in RuStore will help developers determine in advance the appropriate description, video, or screenshots to attract the audience. Together with our promotion tools, featuring, and advertising, such tests ensure improved conversion of installs.

RuStore was created by VK (formerly Mail.ru Group) under the patronage of the Ministry of Digital Development. This app catalog became available in May 2022. In early February 2023, RuStore exited the beta testing stage. The store already has more than 60,000 games and applications from developers from 40 countries around the world, and it has exceeded the mark of 100 million installations. The monthly audience of RuStore in Russia has exceeded 50 million people. Since 2023, RuStore must be pre-installed on all Android smartphones sold in Russia.
