The Russian developer of information security solutions, UserGate, has released stable versions of its next-generation firewall — UserGate NGFW 7.3.3 and UserGate NGFW 7.4.1.

The NGFW 7.3.3 stable version is optimized for the UserGate C100 hardware platform and contains fixes for critical vulnerabilities, enhancing the security of products and devices. Version 7.4.1 stable resolves a previously identified vulnerability that allowed attackers to conduct XSS attacks via the API. Version 7.4 includes significant functional changes: added support for cascading proxy, improved performance, and introduced the ability to set an idle timeout for application signatures.

In UserGate NGFW 7.4, the software has been optimized for the new flagship platform UserGate F8010, resulting in a 20% performance increase in FW L4 mode. IPS performance has also been improved for all UserGate platforms, and the ability to set an idle timeout for application signatures has been added, which is especially useful for organizations processing long and large sessions, such as database replication or video streams from surveillance cameras.

UserGate NGFW 7.4 supports the new UserGate C151 platform, designed to protect small organizations and branches. The device differs from the similar UserGate C150 platform by having two SFP interfaces instead of RJ-45.
