Tantor Labs announced the release of version 6.4 of its platform for managing PostgreSQL infrastructure. A key new feature is support for the distributed DBMS Tantor Polar, used in the Tantor XData Gen3 database machine. The platform now allows visualizing cluster topology, monitoring activity, and the state of its components.

Significant changes have affected the intelligent assistant. It gained the ability to connect to external OpenAI-compatible servers, and its knowledge base search was improved through hybrid search and a reranker model to enhance answer relevance.

To simplify auditing, a configuration change history has been implemented in the system. The platform records all edits, including old and new parameter values, the user, and the source of the operation, allowing for quick rollbacks and analysis of their causes.

In the monitoring area, heatmaps have been added to analyze backup success and recurring incidents. Administrators can temporarily disable notifications for individual triggers and mass-close alerts with a single comment. A history of SQL query memory consumption has also been introduced.

Other improvements include an auto-configuration wizard in Query Profiler, which automatically suggests PostgreSQL parameters, and new integration capabilities with LDAP/Active Directory, including support for multiple connections and integration with the YCHAT notification channel. Additionally, the platform's interface has been redesigned for improved performance, and the DB Browser now features the ability to create databases directly from the interface.
