The credit rating agency "Expert RA" announced the transition to the domestic platform for virtualization of workplaces and terminal access Basis Workplace and software-defined storage system Basis SDS - solutions for managing the dynamic IT infrastructure of "Basis".
The implementation was carried out by an authorized partner — the system integrator «KIT-Systems».
The main scenarios for using the vendor's platform include remote access for employees to the internal infrastructure and the creation of isolated environments with increased information security requirements. Basis Workplace allows the use of server capacity by teams working on portable devices, including laptops and tablets. Another significant advantage is the ability to automate the life cycle of virtual environments. The system is horizontally scalable and resistant to high loads, it is possible to implement a geographically distributed installation to simplify the construction of disaster-resistant solutions.
When choosing a platform, parameters such as the vendor's market share, the maturity of solutions, the availability of successful implementations, the cost, and support for hyperconverged scenarios were taken into account. During operation, Basis Workplace confirmed its stability, functionality, and compliance with data protection requirements. The product is administered by the «Expert RA» own IT service. To ensure operation, specialists underwent a training course on working with the platform, developed by «Basis» for system administrators.
«The decision of «Expert RA» to switch to domestic developments in the absence of urgent regulatory requirements is a strong step. This is a strategic decision — not about replacing components, but about controlling critical infrastructure in the long term,» emphasized Ivan Ermakov, Commercial Director of «Basis».
