Companies are planning a smooth transition to the new system.
The operator of the "Honest Sign" marking system (CRPT), the merged company Wildberries&Russ (RVB), and the Ozon marketplace have signed an agreement on the phased implementation of a preventive control system for the circulation of goods subject to mandatory marking.
According to the companies' press services, marking tools are already being used by marketplaces: they help identify deviations before deliveries are accepted in warehouses, increase the responsibility of entrepreneurs, and reduce the proportion of goods with violations without excessive burden on bona fide businesses.
The next stage is scaling and gradual automation of inspections through deeper integration of IT systems of platforms with "Honest Sign". In particular, digital platforms plan to expand the mechanisms for checking marked goods, regardless of the sales model - both from marketplace warehouses and using platform logistics when shipping from sellers' warehouses.
Special attention is paid to automating checks based on risk indicators of the marking system and expanding the exchange of analytics. This will allow identifying potential violations even before sales begin. Goods will appear on the shelves only after a successful check, and if there is no marking, product cards will be blocked. For buyers on online platforms, there is an opportunity to check the product through the free mobile application "Honest Sign".
In addition, the agreement provides for joint work to identify products from pseudo-Russian manufacturers - phantom companies that claim Russian origin but do not have actual production in the country. If violations are confirmed, the sale of such goods will be restricted by marketplaces.
Companies are planning a smooth transition to the new system so that sellers and manufacturers of products with marking can adapt their business processes to the new rules. Work will begin before the law on the platform economy comes into force. The agreements reached should be reflected in bylaws.
