According to the OCS analytical center, the Russian segment of modular and container data centers amounted to 5 billion rubles at the end of 2024. Analysts expect that in the next five years it will increase to 32 billion rubles, and the annual growth will be up to 10%.

Taking into account industry specifics, the potential audience of customers of modular and container data centers in Russia is about 8 thousand enterprises.

The rapid growth of data volumes in business has a great influence on the development of the segment. According to an OCS survey, every third company (32%) with up to 500 units of computing equipment within the perimeter expects an increase in the amount of corporate information by at least 10% by the end of the year. At the same time, for businesses with 50-250 devices, the share of such answers reaches 48%. A significant part of the target audience of modular and container data centers is now looking for solutions to scale the fleet of servers and data storage systems.

According to OCS experts, domestic players occupy most of the MCD and KCD segment today: Datark, GreenMDC, NoTherm and other companies. Business chooses mainly Russian manufacturers.

Modular and container data centers are mobile engineering structures that include everything necessary for the operation of computing equipment: server racks, cooling and power supply systems, and so on. In the first case, the solution is separate blocks that can be assembled like a constructor, and in the second, a container ready for operation.
