ITC ROSA announced the release of a new version of the ROSA "Chrome" 12.7 distribution — a stable operating system for workstations, laptops, and servers.
According to the developers, the release features an updated Linux 6.12 kernel and the latest MESA graphics libraries, ensuring the system runs smoothly on modern processors, video cards, and other components.
Updates are installed faster, and battery level and power scheme are taken into account on laptops. The system menu now includes the ability to install and remove proprietary Nvidia drivers.
The LibreOffice office suite has been updated. In Calc, indentation is now handled correctly when printing tables, and the behavior of the context menu has been fixed in Impress. Issues with window sizes and help calls have also been resolved.
Compatibility with Kyocera MFPs has been added, and support for Panasonic scanners, Aspeed server video cards, and even network cards on older Macbooks has been improved.
Russian root certificates from the TCI certification authority have been added to the system. This is necessary for correct operation with government and corporate websites that use Russian certificates.
The Plasma 5 graphical shell has received improvements, including fixes from the next-generation Plasma 6. In particular, work with icons and the visual stability of the environment have been improved.
