Inferit, a Softline company, has released a major update to its flagship operating system, "MSVSfera" 9.6, with enhanced support for Russian technologies and improved productivity. The "MSVSfera" family of operating systems is included in the register of domestic software, and individual versions are certified by the FSTEC.
The update is relevant for all editions of the OS: "MSVSfera ARM" for workstations, "MSVSfera Server" for servers and for hosting providers.
Version 9.6 introduces the ability to use GOST certificates to create secure VPN tunnels. The administrator has gained more control over automatic system updates and can allow only necessary updates to be installed. In addition to the existing vulnerability monitoring tools, a docker image security scanner has been added to search for threats in container images.
To prevent data leaks, new tools for controlling the use of external USB devices have appeared in the "MSVSfera" 9.6 OS, and it has become easier to implement a ban on their connection. In addition, document watermarking is provided when printing and using a fingerprint scanner.
The administrator can now independently prepare a bootable image of the operating system containing only the necessary software. The system will be installed on the workplace already with all the necessary applications, and they will not have to be added manually.
Four installation images are available for the "MSVSfera Server" 9.6 OS edition: a server version, a minimal installation, a network installation, and an image with a complete set of packages from the repository. At the same time, the administrator retains the ability to create their own images for specific tasks.
Additional graphical utilities have also appeared, which facilitate system administration thanks to the graphical interface.
To increase performance, version 9.6 implements the ability for 4 users to work simultaneously at one PC with individual peripheral devices.
Another innovation is that the "MSVSfera" 9.6 OS can work with "Яндекс Диск" directly from the file manager, and file search has become smarter - the system searches not only by names, but also inside documents.
