Novosoft Development has released Handy Backup 8.6.3. The new version includes improvements aimed at increasing the efficiency and reliability of plugins for backing up email and S3-compatible cloud storage.
For the Email plugin, stability has been improved using the IMAP protocol when working under high load, especially when backing up a large volume of emails. Optimization reduces the risk of failures and increases the speed of task execution.
In addition, the authorization procedure in the Gmail backup plugin has been improved. In cases where Gmail service previously had connection restrictions, the updated plugin ensures correct execution of the authorization procedure.
In the new version of the S3 plugin, the data transfer process has been optimized: the checksum, which ensures the integrity and protection of information during backup, is now generated taking into account the characteristics of different cloud services. This has improved the plugin's compatibility with popular providers such as Backblaze and Alibaba, and guarantees the stability and security of backups.
As a reminder, Handy Backup is software for backing up and restoring data on personal computers and servers. Handy Backup offers advanced features for backing up email via IMAP, including popular email services such as Yandex Mail, Mail.ru, Rambler, and others. The program supports various email recovery and migration scenarios: return to the original folder, transfer to another mailbox, or to a new address. Viewing backups in the original EML format is also available without the need for full data recovery.
