Aerodisk, a leading Russian manufacturer of data storage systems (DSS) and virtualization, has launched the production of DSS at the Aquarius plant in Tver.
The Tver site's capabilities will allow the creation of up to 500 DSS per year, which is 5 times more than the capacity of the previous production site. In the next two years, it is planned to increase this figure to 1,500 units of finished DSS per year.
The company's existing site will subsequently be modernized into an R&D center for developing new products and preparing them for mass production.
“We always focus on long-term goals,” says Vyacheslav Volodkovich, CEO of Aerodisk. “The new site in Tver is a key element for further scaling up the production of our DSS. In the future, a conveyor line will be launched in Tver to implement all stages of DSS production. Thanks to our partnership with Aquarius, we have achieved technological synergy.”
“We are interested in increasing the utilization of our production facilities, both in terms of volume and product range. This allows us to reduce the costs of maintaining expensive equipment in working order. In addition, the creation of unified production centers for all products of the group of companies contributes to achieving a unified high standard of quality for our computing equipment, including such important characteristics as reliability and security,” noted Sergey Kornyakov, Vice President of Operations at Aquarius.
The development plans for the Tver site include the preparation of an automated DSS testing system, which, in addition to checking the quality of the equipment, will include the automatic installation of software on systems using a centralized server. This is a systematic step towards a complete production cycle of ready-made hardware and software systems (HSS).
