Basis, a leading virtualization tool developer, has become an infrastructure software provider for Gazprombank. As part of the partnership, work will be carried out to transfer the bank's infrastructure to domestic solutions for organizing virtual workplaces and managing dynamic infrastructure.
Currently, two of Basis' flagship products have already been deployed within Gazprombank's infrastructure: the high-performance platform for managing virtual servers and containers, Basis Dynamix, and the workplace virtualization platform, Basis Workplace. Together, they have already organized over a thousand virtual machines, and in 2025, the total number of virtual workplaces in Gazprombank will reach 30 thousand. The updated import-independent dynamic infrastructure of the bank is supported by the Basis Virtual Security cloud protection system and the Migration Assistant. Also, during the year, tests will be conducted on the Basis Digital Energy DevOps pipeline, the Basis Guard data replication tool, and the Basis Virtual Protect backup system.
"The decision to replace infrastructure software with domestic solutions has been long overdue. However, there was an understanding that haste is unacceptable – shutting down servers, transferring workplaces, all of this could affect business processes and, consequently, our clients. Therefore, we approached the selection of a supplier thoroughly and, among all the options, settled on the Basis ecosystem. Its advantages were its own code base, affordable price, the ability to refine the product to our needs, and, importantly, a huge accumulated implementation experience," noted Rinat Bikmaev, Head of the Infrastructure Department of Information Technology at Gazprombank.
"The key task of Basis is to facilitate the digital transformation of Gazprombank's IT infrastructure and the import substitution of software for organizing a virtual environment. An important condition complicating the work was maintaining the continuity and stability of the organization's business processes. But despite the difficulties, the products of the Basis ecosystem successfully passed acceptance tests according to the customer's methodology and were able to meet its requirements for the operation of dynamic infrastructure and ensuring its security," commented David Martirosov, General Director of Basis.
