«Аквариус» выпустил новую линейку систем хранения данных Wareus

The "Aquarius" Group announced the launch of a new line of Wareus data storage systems with a completely new software management suite. Among other advantages are a high degree of equipment localization, as well as VMS and BIOS of its own design.

Wareus data storage systems are designed for a wide range of tasks, both general purpose and mission-critical, including: storing data for virtualization systems, ensuring the operation of high-performance database management systems (DBMS), storing media content, providing effective access to archival data, operating predictive analytics and predictive management of critical information infrastructure (CII) subsystems, backup tasks, and others.

For efficient continuous operation, Wareus DSS have fully redundant controllers operating in an active/active scheme. The equipment is available in various modifications, including a redundant solution with two controllers and a built-in disk shelf in one housing, or several controllers with external pluggable disk shelves. DSS are available based on SSD drives with a capacity of up to 4600 TB, and based on HDD drives with a capacity of up to 8400 TB.

The devices are controlled by the Wareus software management suite (SMS), which is based on the principles of secure software development (Security by Design). This SMS was designed by Aquarius specialists from scratch to provide management of modern high-performance DSS of medium and corporate class. Management of physical media, working and backup disk groups, and pools is also available.

"We started developing our own software code for DSS management three years ago. First, we analyzed many Western and Russian developments, identified customer requirements for DSS power, understanding that the business need for this product will only grow year by year. Taking into account this data and based on our experience in manufacturing our own hardware platforms, we created a management complex. Our development will allow us to create solutions for the current requirements of customers and successfully integrate them with partner software solutions," - said Oleg Oleinik, Director of the Technical Directorate of the Aquarius Group.

In addition to high performance, the DSS has high information security indicators. To protect disks from failure, modern RAID algorithms have been created, the implementation of which was carried out by Aquarius specialists from scratch. To date, RAID4, RAID5, RAID6 have been implemented. A special high-performance RAID Multi Mirror algorithm is also available, which operates in parallel access mode to physical media and allows you to increase the streaming performance of the DSS several times.

The Wareus line is intended for use by Russian corporate and government customers and will be available for order from the first quarter of 2024. The entire line comes with a standard three-year warranty, which can be extended and supplemented at the request of customers.
