Russian IT infrastructure provider Selectel continues to develop SelectOS, a corporate-grade server operating system based on Debian. The solution now features automatic installation on dedicated servers and support for cloud launch.
According to the developers, the new version of the OS has been refined to meet business needs and is designed to reduce the burden on IT specialists through additional management tools, while ensuring security, control, and cost optimization.
Other updates include the ability to automatically install on dedicated servers and support cloud launch, expansion of the application repository adapted for DPDK (Data Plane Development Kit – a set of libraries and drivers for fast network packet processing) technology.
In addition, compatibility with more than 500 hardware configurations is ensured. The company emphasized:
