Tantor Labs, a member of the Astra Group, has introduced a new release of the Tantor platform, designed for efficient management and monitoring of PostgreSQL clusters. The key innovation in Tantor 5.2 is the change in release policy.
With the release of 6.0, the solution will be available in two main versions, which are developed in parallel according to LTS and LTS+1 schemes. According to the developers, users will be able to choose between maximum stability and new features depending on business needs.
The updated platform adds support for Patroni version 4. The cluster interface has been redesigned: information is collected on a single page, where the "Overview and Management" tabs are used to control the status of instances and view information about them, and the "Monitoring" tab is used to track the history of changes in instance roles and its statuses. Navigation is simplified, and you can go to detailed information about the cluster in one click.
The configuration page has changed "smart" filters. They highlight parameters that differ from the recommended ones, correspond to default values, or are waiting to be applied. Alerts now have direct links to problem instances, allowing for faster incident response.
The task scheduler has received the ability to forcibly close a frozen task, and the interface has also been redesigned and improved.
