The Russian company Aerodisk has released a driver that ensures full compatibility of storage systems with the OpenStack platform, which simplifies resource management and increases the flexibility of using storage systems in various environments.
OpenStack is an open platform that allows you to centrally manage virtual machines, networks, and data storage. With the new Aerodisk Cinder Driver, users can directly connect the company's storage systems to their infrastructure and manage data through the OpenStack interface.
The driver works on all Aerodisk storage systems implemented on the Aquarius platform, with the latest versions of the software. Currently, compatibility has been confirmed for Ubuntu and SberLinux operating systems, and RedHat support is also planned.
Implemented driver methods include: Create Volume, Delete Volume, Attach Volume (connecting a volume to a virtual machine), Detach Volume, Extend Volume, Create Volume from Volume (cloning a volume), Create Image from Volume.
Aerodisk plans to add new methods in the future to expand functionality, as well as include the driver in the OpenStack repository.
