Financial technology (fintech) is one of the fastest-growing sectors of the global economy. This market covers a wide range of areas: from traditional banking services to insurance technologies (insurtech). Russia, with its strong mathematical school and high level of IT expertise, successfully competes in the international arena, offering advanced solutions. Yuri Kuvshinov, co-owner of Mains Lab, spoke about the demand for Russian IT products abroad and their competitive advantages.
Russian Insurance Technologies in the Middle East
Innovative insurance solutions developed in Russia are in demand in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Bahrain. The use of artificial intelligence significantly increases the efficiency of the industry: automated algorithms analyze medical bills, identifying cases of inflated amounts, and calculate the degree of damage to cars with an accuracy of up to 98%. These technologies are used in countries with a rapidly growing insurance industry, where traditional methods of work no longer meet the requirements of the time.
Quality and Price
Russian IT products are not inferior to Western counterparts in quality but have a key advantage: cost. For developing markets that are just beginning their path to digitalization, the price factor plays a decisive role. Another important aspect is the high flexibility and adaptability of Russian developers. Companies quickly take into account the needs of foreign clients, for example, integrate support for the Arabic language, comply with local regulatory requirements, and take into account the cultural characteristics of Islamic countries.
In addition, the countries of the Middle East, North Africa, and Latin America are striving for technological independence, reducing dependence on Western IT giants. In this context, Russian developments are becoming a popular alternative. Many states are developing the digitalization of public services, modernizing infrastructure, and combating cyber threats, and Russian IT companies offer proven solutions that have already proven themselves in the domestic market.
Challenges for Russian IT Exports
Despite the high demand, Russian IT companies face a number of difficulties. One of the key problems remains the international transfer of funds, which is complicated by sanctions pressure. Even when cooperating with friendly countries, the execution of financial transactions becomes more difficult.
Another challenge is competition with Indian IT companies offering services at extremely low prices. Nevertheless, Russian developers retain strong positions in high-tech niches such as cybersecurity, big data processing, and artificial intelligence.
Prospects for Russian IT Solutions
The stable demand for Russian technological products abroad confirms their competitiveness. High quality, adaptability, and innovation allow domestic companies to expand their presence in the global market, providing reliable and effective solutions in various fields. In the context of global digitalization, Russian IT developments continue to find new customers and successfully compete with Western and Asian counterparts.
