xAI, founded by Elon Musk, has unveiled its latest artificial intelligence development, the Grok-3 chatbot. This event marks a significant step in the competition with giants such as OpenAI, Google, and the Chinese company DeepSeek.

Technical specifications and capabilities of Grok-3

Grok-3 was trained on the Colossus supercomputer, located in Memphis, Tennessee, which is considered the largest in the world. More than 200,000 Nvidia H100 GPUs were used to train the model, resulting in approximately 200 million GPU hours. This provided Grok-3 with computing power more than 10 times greater than its predecessor, Grok-2. Thanks to this, the new model is able to quickly and accurately process huge amounts of data, significantly improving the quality and speed of responses.

One of the key features of Grok-3 is its ability to "reason". The model is able to break down complex tasks into simpler steps, check its own conclusions, and provide users with detailed and reasoned answers. Two modes of operation are available to users: "Think", which displays the model's reasoning process, and "Big Brain", which is designed to solve the most complex tasks requiring significant computing resources.

Availability and subscription

Grok-3 is already available to subscribers of the X Premium+ service, which costs $40 per month. Subscribers get access to new features, including DeepSearch, an intelligent search engine capable of analyzing and summarizing information from various sources. In addition, xAI plans to launch a new subscription level called SuperGrok, which will provide users with advanced features and early access to new features.

Competitive advantages and prospects

According to Elon Musk, Grok-3 outperforms existing models such as GPT-4 from OpenAI and Gemini from Google, especially in tasks requiring complex reasoning. Musk noted that Grok-3 is a "maximally truthful AI" capable of providing accurate answers, even if they contradict generally accepted opinions.

With the launch of Grok-3, xAI strengthens its position in the artificial intelligence market, offering users a powerful tool for solving a wide range of tasks. The company's immediate plans include further development of the model, including adding voice functions and expanding integration capabilities with other services.
