Aquarius and Astra Group have developed a software and hardware suite for cloud infrastructure - Aquarius AIC. The suite enables the implementation of private or public clouds, including distributed ones, and allows for flexible management of virtual infrastructure and its components.
This is a highly adaptable and secure cloud solution designed for creating a software-defined infrastructure layer. The main advantage of the solution is providing the entire range of necessary services: computing resource rental (IaaS), a ready-made platform with specific settings for various tasks (PaaS), and a fully ready-made solution (SaaS) to ensure compliance with corporate standards for both large enterprises and small to medium-sized businesses.
The hardware platform of the suite is entirely built on devices from a single vendor and includes high-performance servers, a data storage system, and Aquarius switching equipment. The complex is built on Astra Infrastructure Cloud (AIC) software developed by Astra Group. The suite has been successfully tested in the Aquarius Development Center laboratory by development, architecture, and engineering teams from both companies. Functional and load tests have been conducted, ensuring its reliable and uninterrupted operation.
«Cloud solutions are a trend in the IT industry and offer several undeniable advantages for clients: significant savings on administration, time savings through automatic updates, timely access to data, and maximum scalability. The new product will primarily interest companies that build their infrastructure on fully Russian solutions and operate with large volumes of data. These are enterprises from various industries, such as the electric power industry, the oil and gas sector, and industrial production,» – emphasized Andrey Andrianov, Vice President for Strategic Development at Aquarius.
«Russian companies are looking for ready-made solutions to get both software and hardware, as well as technical support through a single point of contact. All of this is provided in the suites: for any related issues, the client contacts one organization, not multiple vendors. Another important point is that the equipment can be quickly installed in the data center and start being used only if it is adapted for high-quality operation in the cloud and thoroughly tested. Aquarius AIC, which we created together with our colleagues from Aquarius, is exactly such a solution, and we plan to continue jointly developing and supplying specialized suites so that our clients can always easily and successfully solve a wide variety of infrastructure tasks,» – comments Alexey Krishtop, Director of Cloud Services at Astra Group.
