At the event, two-time winner of the "Palme d'Or" at the Cannes Film Festival, Emir Kusturica, asked his colleague whether cinemas are awaiting the future of operas, which are not as popular as before. In response, Oliver Stone noted that if a person has the opportunity to purchase a large TV, then the need to go and buy tickets for a movie partially disappears.

- It's great to watch movies at home now. It is not necessary to go to cinemas. There is a new mobility in cinema now. New movies quickly appear even in small towns, Oliver Stone noted. - There are interesting novelties in recent films. Amazing images are used. Movies are made exciting and interesting, now there is everything for this.

As for the content, the American film director admitted that he used to believe that every new film should become a classic. However, now he urges to be more lenient towards film producers. In his opinion, a lot of criticism falls on them, but it is not always reasonable.

At the same time, Oliver Stone urged not to dwell on outstanding film directors of the past, such as Jean-Luc Godard and Federico Fellini. No one will repeat their work. However, other strong professionals will take their place.

- Now it's a completely different world, and it's constantly changing. You must accept the fact that changes are constantly happening, rejoice in the past, but move into the future, the American film director said.

About 70 speakers from more than 10 countries came to Moscow for the forum "Culture. Media. Digital" to discuss the economic potential of creative initiatives and possible cooperation programs. Special attention will be paid to technologies in cinema and support for talents in the industry. The event takes place in the TAU space in the southeast of Moscow.
