On September 14, the winners of the annual ECO BEST Award were announced at a ceremony at MEGA Belaya Dacha. The winners received awards for the best products and practices in the field of ecology, energy and resource conservation.
This year, the award featured many nominations covering a wide range of achievements in environmental management and corporate social responsibility. The event took place as part of the ECO LIFE FEST – a meeting place for those who choose eco-products, care about the quality of life, prefer eco-friendly brands, or simply adhere to the principle of responsible consumption. Throughout the festival, many activities were organized, including:
– Eco-swap – a zone where everyone could give their things a second life;
– Eco-market, where environmentally friendly products from young companies were presented;
– PET corner, where visitors could get recommendations from zoopsychologists and veterinarians, and four-legged friends had the opportunity to taste treats in the "Dog Bar".
Festival partners included: Radio Hit FM 107.4, BIOFOCUS, Recycle Object, Nutrino Lab, "DIUSA PET" and the Center for Clean Nature. An integral part of the extensive program of events was the annual conference "Ecology and Business: Best Corporate Practices," which brought together leading experts and entrepreneurs seeking to implement innovative and environmentally friendly solutions in their activities.
The highlight of the event was the awards ceremony. The event recognized the outstanding achievements of the laureates, whose efforts inspire active action in the field of environmental protection and the formation of responsible business. Forty companies received public recognition, including: Gardenica, "Bytplast", Avito, JSC "Nefis Cosmetics", Mr.Mattress, the National Association for Winter Road Maintenance, PJSC "LUKOIL", Natura Siberica, JSC "Mosengineering", SBER, SYNERGETIC, JSC "Alfa-Bank" and State Corporation "Rosatom".
Combating the negative impact on nature is one of the key tasks that environmental activists are working on. The main environmental problems today include climate change, air pollution, biodiversity loss, water scarcity and plastic overuse.
ECO BEST AWARD recognizes the initiatives of companies that seek to rethink their approaches to production and consumption in the face of modern environmental challenges. "The Gardenica brand focuses on environmental safety, offering solutions that minimize the impact on nature. Biodegradable formulas help conserve water resources, ensuring cleanliness and safety for future generations. Our goal is to contribute to creating a sustainable and healthy world for our children," said Olga El Sherif, leading brand manager of Gardenica – winner of the "Product of the Year" nomination, emphasizing the importance of environmental safety and continuous progress.
"We believe that the future lies in eco-technologies and sustainable development. The circular economy, based on waste recycling and reuse, is actively supported by digital platforms where used items find new uses. On such resources, you can find places for separate collection and recycling, take old and unnecessary things there. Thus, such companies contribute to environmental projects and help users take care of the planet. Avito implements projects in the field of recycling and conscious consumption, both for users and for company employees. We are actively implementing environmental and social initiatives, demonstrating a commitment to resource conservation. Among Avito's key ESG projects is a map of recyclable materials collection. This gives people the opportunity not only to get rid of the unnecessary, but also to help those in need," shared Vasily Leksin, ESG product manager at Avito.
Bytplast, a participant in the Award, also demonstrates its commitment to the principles of sustainable development. Olga Muravyova, the company's development director, commented: "Bytplast's corporate principles are synchronized with approaches to building a circular economy: this includes the production of durable goods that do not need to be changed often, the reuse of production waste, and concern for the environment starting from the design stage of new products. We think in advance about how they will be produced, transported and disposed of."
Against the background of rapid changes in the field of ecology and growing interest in reliable practices, ECO BEST AWARD is becoming an important platform for supporting initiatives aimed at protecting the environment and developing corporate social responsibility. "The future of environmental technologies and practices is inevitable. Consumer awareness is already changing, as well as the attitude of manufacturing companies to the environment, in particular to waste. Environmentally friendly initiatives are emerging and technologies are developing in business. We are seeing increased demand for merchandise, household goods and furniture made from recycled plastic from various clients," notes Nikita Kuznetsov, co-founder of Recycle Object.
The results of the award once again confirmed that business must play an important role in preserving the environment and promoting sustainable development. The winners of the award will demonstrate their contribution to an environmentally responsible approach to doing business and inspire other market participants to follow their example.
