Однофазные ИБП SMARTWATT

Event by OCS and ENERGON, a developer and supplier of energy storage and generation solutions. For over 25 years, the company has been providing comprehensive solutions for commercial and private facilities. During the event, participants learned about SMARTWATT — an ENERGON trademark.

Sergey Maslovsky, Product Manager for SMARTWATT UPS, presented the model range — from basic devices for home use to professional UPS for server rooms, and discussed the features of the product series, advantages of the devices, service support, etc.

This is new equipment on the Russian market. We announced it in April 2024. We plan to further expand and develop the line. The presentation will be dedicated to what SMARTWATT UPS are and what they provide.

We will go through the model range from the maximum model at the moment, which is 5 kW, to the minimum - which is 400 V*A. In the first quarter of 2025, we will have models with a capacity of 10 kW and 40 kW.

So, regarding the SMARTWATT brand directly. ENERGON has been on the market for over 25 years, and we plan to develop UPS for a long time.

The assortment at ENERGON is not final, it will increase and grow.

I want to mention that the vast majority of our assortment is represented by models that have no analogues on the Russian market. I mean that this is not the products of brands that practically occupy 80% of the Russian market. Our products are manufactured at a Taiwanese factory, which has an additional factory in China. Its main sales office is located in Milan, and its main customer is Le Grand, with main deliveries to Europe and America.

The features of our products are three-level quality control. If we compare with most suppliers represented on the Russian market, their products usually only pass one quality control line. This is the line that is produced by the vendor for UPS manufactured according to our requests, with our modifications. That is, the first testing cycle is carried out directly by the manufacturer. The second stage of quality control is a visiting commission, which is sent to the factory before loading each batch of products. This can take up to two weeks depending on the volume and number of models in the batch. And only after passing the on-site testing, the equipment is shipped to Russia. Further, upon arrival at our Russian warehouse, an additional check is carried out directly on the basis of our own quality control service, the quality control department. And only after approval and receipt of the visa of the engineers and the chief engineer of the quality control department about the passed test and compliance with all requirements, the batches go on sale. Thanks to this, we provide a 3-year warranty. If we recall that the offer on the market is mainly a warranty period of about 2 years, we have similar 2 years under an unconditional warranty, and the end user receives the third year of warranty after registering on the website. Registration is completed within 20-30 seconds on the official SMARTWATT website. To do this, you can either go to the SMARTWATT website in the service support department, the information is on the box, or on the product itself there are additional information stickers with a QR code, by scanning which you can get to the page for entering information and obtaining an extended warranty. In addition, there is a hotline. The phone 8800 is also listed on the SMARTWATT website. If you or your client, partner has any questions, you can send them to the SMARTWATT website or provide our hotline phone number. And our technical support staff will promptly answer all your questions about the operation of devices, some technical features of devices. You can also contact us regarding the fulfillment of warranty obligations and other similar situations.

We also have the opportunity to register projects. We have our own presale service. That is, if you have any project, you can contact us through your OCS company manager. Your request will be transferred to our presale service, processed, and a solution will be selected for you based on your request. If the request includes only UPS, then there will be UPS. If your request includes some kind of complex solution, i.e. UPS, batteries, racks, then you will immediately be offered a complex solution, because we now have racks and PDUs in our assortment in addition to UPS. Together, this allows us to form a single complex solution for your project with calculations, with recommendations. If these are batteries, then all jumpers, cabinets and everything necessary will already be included, and you will be offered a complex solution. If any product is not available in our warehouse, but is available from our partner, then in this case we will immediately provide information about the nearest delivery dates.

Also, if this is necessary for the customer, it is possible to customize our line. But customization, of course, increases delivery times. The terms depend on the complexity of the customization. If it is simple, then it increases the delivery time by two to three weeks. If it is a deeper customization, then the delivery time may increase by a month or two from the standard delivery times.

Let's move on directly to the model range.

As you know, UPS solve two main problems that customers have. The first is the direct disappearance of power. That is, it is necessary to continue to power the load in its absence. And the second is to ensure the quality of power. This is for loads that are sensitive to quality. These can be some measuring instruments, server equipment, data center equipment, etc.

At the moment, we are closing part of the areas in our line. That is, we are closing the area for home and office. For home, we have the SAFE PRO series, as well as UNI, these are classic computer UPS. For offices, we have a segment from simple computer to online solutions. In the rack, we have two options, online and line-interactive, and our assortment closes, the maximum is a 5-kilowatt solution. Now we will start moving along our line from top to bottom, from more powerful solutions to weaker ones.

Our line is opened by a 5 kilowatt model. This is a classic on-line in tower design.

A feature of this model is a high charging current of up to 60 A. This allows you to connect batteries with a capacity of up to 250 A*h to it. The second feature of this model is that its DC bus is 48 volts, i.e. 4 batteries are connected to it. Thus, using 4 batteries at 250 A*h, we get a fairly compact product in terms of placement with a long backup time. If the backup time of 4 batteries is not enough, you can connect another group of 4 batteries at 250 A*h in parallel. This is easily allowed by a high charging current. If we compare similar solutions from other manufacturers that currently exist on the Russian market, we will see that they mainly offer 6 kilowatts now, and their main difference is the need to connect 16 batteries, which does not always allow service to be performed at the final facility. Often there may simply not be enough space. And we get a compact solution with a long backup time.

All products are covered by a 3-year warranty. You can also put a parallel connection board on it, and scale it by connecting up to six devices in one line. And thus, depending on the requirements of the customer, either increase the total backup time of the system, or increase the power of the system.

The next model in our line is the classic rack model. This is the DATA PRO series.

It can be made either vertically or on legs (legs are included). The model range is from 1 to 3 kVA. It has an ABDM function, programmable sockets, and a number of other interesting functions. There is also standard remote monitoring. By default, you can monitor without using additional software via the USB channel, or via the RS-232 port. The program is presented on the website, or expansion cards SNMP or dry contact cards are used, depending on the needs of the customer.

Here is a model range that includes three modifications that differ in output connectors. There is an option with classic or Euro sockets, which are optimal for the UPS market. There is a classic output with computer sockets – two groups of four sockets. And there is also an option that has no analogues on the market, because it is mainly represented by either this or that option. This is a combo option. It features both Euro sockets and computer sockets. Or, if for some reason the customer at the final facility requires both types of output connectors and there is no way to install a socket block in the rack slot because he has no space, or the current socket block is completely occupied. So, I repeat, 3 years warranty. There is an ABDM method, an automatic discharge method.

It starts working when the battery is discharged for a long time with low currents. As you know, if the situation with long-term discharge with low currents in the battery is often repeated, there is a high risk of efficiency 0.9 in them. When discharged with low currents, there is a risk of sulfation. This leads to the fact that if the situation with long-term discharges is constantly repeated at the facility, then over time the battery quickly fails, even despite its initially high quality. In order to prevent this from happening, the ABDM system automatically, over time (the time scale is reflected here), begins to raise the lower limit of the maximum depth of battery discharge. Thus, we avoid the occurrence of sulfation in the battery, and it retains the maximum capacity. Yes, the backup time is slightly lost (by 5-7%), but at the same time, the customer will be able to operate the internal batteries for the maximum possible period, i.e. almost the entire service life. This method of automatic discharge is used for this.

As for monitoring. By default, monitoring goes through USB RS-232.

We use a Russified program. It is available for free download on the website. All standard functions are used, i.e. they show voltage, frequency, write logs, inform about events, if necessary, you can configure the order of turning off the connected computer.

We have a dry contact EPO. Let me remind you, the EPO function is the ability to remotely disconnect the uninterruptible power supply from the load in case of an accident.

How does this happen? Usually, if there is a fire or some other force majeure situation, or it is simply necessary to urgently de-energize the connected load, a contact is brought to the security console through a relay. The button is pressed on the security console, or on the maintenance and control console, and the UPS is turned off.

You can, using the service software, reprogram this output at the time of installation at the facility. It can work in two versions. It can work either as a remote shutdown or as a remote power-on. That is, you can independently determine which function is preferable. And also you cannot change what the signal will react to: to an open contact or to a closed contact. Sometimes this is critical if the customer's relay system is configured for a certain operation, i.e. either the relay closes the contact, you can adjust the operation of this output signal to the customer's system. Usually, most manufacturers use either EPO, or ROO, or two contacts. In this case, one universal with the ability to reprogram it.

There are also a number of other interesting functions that can be used additionally for configuration at the facility.

You can disable the auto-start function, if necessary. You can disable the sound signal through this menu, or use the display functionality. You can set the voltage and bypass tolerances. You can program sockets, there is such an interesting calibration function. In principle, you know that there are two groups there. If you have a Euro socket, i.e. there will be one in the group, one socket first, one second. If you have computer 8 sockets, there are two groups of four.

Let's go back to the calibration functions. There is a self-test function for all manufacturers, here there is also a calibration function. If for some reason you want to hedge or the customer wants to be sure that the UPS is working normally, without complaints, without failures, this function is started. It automatically determines the state of all UPS parameters, and in case of detection of any deviations, it independently restores them to the required values, i.e. calibrates the device if necessary. There is also such a function, if suddenly necessary, you can choose the functionality "work in the absence of batteries". When might this be required? This may be required during maintenance, if you suddenly do not have a bypass at the facility. It will power the load without giving any error, work calmly, calmly power the load. Or at the facility for some reason the batteries have failed, and they cannot be quickly brought up. And also, if there is a need, you can turn on such a function so that the UPS determines the presence of voltage between neutral and ground. If you turn it on, it will inform you about the detection of this voltage.

As for programmable sockets. As I said, there are two groups. If these are Euro sockets, then one will be one socket or one group of sockets, the second, respectively, the second group.

If these are computer sockets, then there are also two groups. What can you do? You can assign one or another group of sockets as the master. You can determine which of the groups of sockets will be the master. Second, you can configure the shutdown of the second group of sockets, i.e. not critically load, either by time or by residual battery capacity. You can determine how critical it is for you to maintain the operation of the main load. If it is more critical, then you can set the condition that when the residual capacity reaches, for example, 60%, the UPS should only power the main load. Most other vendors do not calibrate this functionality, the residual capacity is usually hard-coded to within 20-30%. Then it automatically turns off, and there is no adjustment. We have the ability to reprogram this functionality.

Next, we move on to the XPERT series. XPERT is essentially the same DATA PRO, only in a classic tower case.

It is also an on-line, also a 3-year warranty, power up to 3 kVA, power factor 0.9. There is also remote monitoring, you can also connect SNMP cards.

If we consider the rear panel of the UPS, we will see that we have a version of two groups of programmable classic computer sockets, Euro sockets one, the second programmable and combo variations. These solutions, I repeat, are available to everyone. Combo options are practically not found on the market. There is also APU, 232nd USB and the possibility of installing SMP boards or expansion boards. In terms of functionality, they completely repeat the previous model.

Let's go further. If for some reason the customer does not have enough funds, or he does not need to purchase an on-line, but he needs a reliable rack UPS, then we have the DATA series UPS.

This is a linear interactive, with a pure sine wave. It also comes with a three-year warranty. It has combined connectors. That is, its main connectors will be computer connectors, well, at least from one to three we will have Euro sockets, depending on the model. The power factor of this model is 0.8. In principle, there are also on the market with such an output factor, but there are also weaker models that surpass us in price with a power factor of 0.7. There are interesting features here. In this model, you can adjust the battery discharge settings. You can set the level to which the batteries installed inside this device will be discharged.

In this case, there is no automatic adjustment, but you can forcibly limit the level of deep discharge of the batteries, and thus increase the service life of the batteries.

Also, if you are using some remote object, there is a DC-start function, i.e. start and operation from the battery.

How does this bundle work? For example, at some facility, power is turned on according to a certain time schedule. In this case, you can configure it so that the UPS turns on at the time you need. For example, your power turns on at 14.30, and turns off at 18.00. You can configure it so that the UPS turns on from 15.00 to 17.00 and powers the load. Or, if there is no power at the facility at all, then a bundle is assembled: solar panel - controllers - batteries and UPS. The charge level is set. The UPS constantly monitors the situation, and when the required battery charge level is reached, it turns on and starts working, powering the load. This function can be used at remote weather stations, in some measuring instruments, or at restricted facilities. The facility is powered by the load, data is transmitted, the sun has set, the batteries are discharged, it goes into standby mode and waits for the next day. This is a function that is interesting for remote hard-to-reach facilities.

Next, we move on to the classic computer UPS. The UNI PRO series opens the line.

This line is interesting because it has a pure sine wave and a power factor of 0.7. As you know, most solutions in this segment are inexpensive mass solutions with a power factor of 0.6 and with a meander. Therefore, our product is more expensive if compared with similar offers on the market. If we compare by RRC, then we have either the first price tag, or close to it. These models are used where it is necessary to power any load of sensitive output signal quality, including one that requires a pure sine wave. There is remote monitoring via USB and there is the possibility of support, if the client uses this system, it is possible to integrate into it. And there are combined output connectors, i.e. in these models there will be both computer sockets and Shuko or Euro sockets at the output. This allows them to be protected for projects being written so that they can be replaced.

There is also the UNI PRO LCD model. This is, in principle, the same thing, only a display appears. If there is a need for visual control of the operation of this UPS by the end customer.

The next younger model is UNI, these are simple classic on-line interactive uninterruptible power supplies with a meander, i.e. with an approximated sine wave. There is also a three-year warranty here, while everywhere they give one or two years. The model range, in principle, covers almost all needs from 450 to 2 kVA, power factor 0.6. Also, like the previous model, there are combined outputs here. That is, there is the possibility of connecting either via a computer connector or via a standard Euro connector.

The next, younger line, is 2 lines SAFE PRO and SAFE PRO LSD.

These are linear interactive UPS with an approximated sine wave. The model also has a 3-year warranty. The model range is from 600 to 1000 V*A. Power factor 0.6. There are 8 sockets. Four of them provide redundancy, and the other four only provide protection. The function with the LSD indication, in addition to the presence of a display, is also equipped with additional switching connectors, such as USB and RG port, one of the RG-45 - for protecting the modem line. Depending on the needs of the customer, you can choose either one or the other model. Since December 2024, the price for these models has been reduced. We have revised the price list in such a way that it allows them to be used massively to solve a wide variety of tasks. Most often they are used, if we take the Be-to-Be market, this is retail, for powering cash zones. It is mainly used in "Pyaterochka" and "Magnit" stores. OZON often requests such models for its points of sale. Their choice is simple. They have a working terminal, computer, monitor, scanner, etc. They consume a little, but they need a large number of connectors. Therefore, this solution is optimal for them.

And the simplest devices close our line. These are models of the SAFE series.

We recommend using them mainly for home. But no one prevents them from being used in the office. The power range is also from 600 to 1000 V*A. In terms of functionality and reliability, they are not inferior to the previous models. They differ only in compact dimensions and a smaller number of output connectors. There are only three of them here. Due to this, the product is compact, it can even be installed next to the TV. How is it most often used? Someone powers computers, someone routers, someone some additional devices, the same TV set-top box, or, if the power allows, you can power a game console. It is possible to mount the model on the wall, there are special recesses for this on the back.

What will we be expanding next year?

Now all our uninterruptible power supplies come with internal batteries, except for the older model, which works with external batteries with a charging current of 60 A. In the next quarter, we plan to introduce uninterruptible power supplies with a high charging current. We will have battery packs. SNMP cards are already available in the assortment, that is, both classic SNMP Ethernet protocol cards and dry contact or RS-485 type cards, depending on what is required at the facility. We will also have bypass modules for installation in a rack and ATS – a rack power distribution system. Also, if necessary, they can be installed at the final facility.
