The new plugin allows storing copies on remote servers or in the cloud and restoring systems after major failures
The technology company Yadro has expanded the capabilities of Tatlin.Flex data storage systems for virtual environments. The Tatlin.Satellites.VM infrastructure software line now includes the Guard plugin, designed for backing up virtual machines to a remote site and restoring them in case of primary infrastructure failures.
The solution is developed based on MIND Guard #guest for Tatlin.Flex.Pro and Express storage systems. Replication is performed asynchronously at the guest operating system level of virtual machines. Thanks to this, the target environment does not have to use equipment from the same manufacturer as the source. Virtual machines can be migrated between servers of different brands, standard x86 platforms, and cloud sites.
The agent is installed on the source and target virtual machines, and management is carried out through a web interface. Data transfer is encrypted and compressed, which reduces the load on communication channels. The replication log allows selecting the desired recovery point.
Guard is distributed under a paid license for 10 or 30 concurrently running replication pairs. There are no restrictions on the number of hosts and virtual machines, but one of the replication sides must use Tatlin.Flex storage.
