Before the conference begins, the moderator assigns an interpreter to the conference; users can select the translation language or keep the original audio.
Dion, a corporate communications platform developed by the T1 IT holding, has received an update for conducting international meetings, webinars, and conferences. One of the main innovations is the simultaneous interpretation mode, which allows connecting professional interpreters and organizing events with participants speaking different languages.
Before the meeting begins, the moderator assigns an interpreter who gains access to the main audio channel and simultaneously provides interpretation on a separate language track. Participants can independently select the desired broadcast language, keep the original speech without translation, or speak in their own language.
As Roman Cherednikov, Director of the Dion platform project portfolio, noted, using separate audio channels avoids pauses characteristic of consecutive interpretation and maintains the pace of discussion.
The update also affected tools for working with breakout rooms. Organizers gained the ability to track the composition and number of participants in each group, as well as manage their settings through the administration panel.
In addition, the web version of the service now supports correct display of vertical video from smartphones without distorting image proportions.
