The biggest update in the system's history was the transition to the new hypervisor platform zVirt Node 2.0.

Orion soft company presented an update to the zVirt 5.0 platform, which includes a new minimalistic hypervisor OS and the ability to migrate virtual machines between data centers without a shared storage system.

The main innovation was the zVirt Node 2.0 hypervisor platform, developed specifically for virtualization. It features a lightweight architecture and reduced code volume, which increases system stability and security.

zVirt 5.0 also introduced a function for migrating virtual machines between data centers, which works even in the absence of shared storage. Migration is possible both in online mode (up to two machines simultaneously) and in offline mode (up to 32 objects simultaneously).

In addition, the system improved the virtual machine task scheduler and added additional SDN capabilities, such as traffic balancing and BGP protocol support.

As the developers emphasized, zVirt 5.0 covers all virtual machine migration scenarios previously available only from VMware. In the future, the platform will receive its own backup tool and tools for working with software-defined storage.
