With the release of RuBackup 2.9, support for Astra Linux Special Edition 1.6 and Debian 10 operating systems has been discontinued.
RuBackup, a company within the Astra Group, has released a new version of the corporate platform, RuBackup 2.9. RuBackup 2.9 introduces the ability to update components without installing intermediate versions, simplifying migration and reducing IT staff workload. Support has been added for creating synthetic backups using Block device type pools, which reduces the load on servers and network infrastructure.
The RuBackup platform now supports Tantor DBMS versions 17 and 18, as well as working with the tape library from the Russian company Nerpa. A module for the "Horizon-VS" environment from "IC Barrikady" has been added to the list of supported virtualization platforms, allowing organizations using this platform to obtain a full-fledged virtual machine protection tool.
The MySQL module has been supplemented with support for MariaDB DBMS, and the module for PostgreSQL, Tantor, and Jatoba has been updated to work with PostgreSQL 18 and Tantor 18. Authentication via Unix socket using the peer method has been added, which increases security and simplifies configuration.
The Basis DynamiX Standard module now supports restoring virtual machines to external storage, automatic switching to full backup when the disk configuration changes, and optimized temporary file cleanup.
The module for oVirt, zVirt, "RED Virtualization", ROSA Virtualization, and HOST VM has received support for secret storage, multi-threaded mode, and selective copying of non-empty disk blocks. The OpenStack modules have been supplemented with support for secret storage and the ability to automatically delete the system disk when deleting a virtual machine.
The PC SV Brest module has received a number of functions that increase the convenience and security of operation, and the module responsible for working with the RuPost mail server has been updated for versions 4.0 and 4.1 and has received a function for granular recovery of letters by their attributes.
The RuBackup "Administrator Manager" can now retrieve a list of resources for mass creation of backup strategy rules, and the Tucana web interface has been supplemented with authorization via ALD Pro and capabilities for managing the volume of the directory with log files.
With the release of RuBackup 2.9, support for Astra Linux Special Edition 1.6 and Debian 10 operating systems has been discontinued, and support for REST API v1 is also ending — starting with RuBackup version 3.0, it will be completely discontinued.
