The store was developed from scratch and provides a user-friendly interface for working with applications.
The Red OS 8 operating system has launched its own "App Store", providing users with convenient access to software and updates. Red Soft has introduced a new feature that allows you to quickly find, install, and update applications without using a package manager.
The "App Store" catalog includes more than 170 programs, including user software from the Red OS repository and partner products. Each package undergoes mandatory security and performance testing before being added to the catalog.
Applications in the store are divided into seven categories: office, development, design, application software, system, education, and security. Users can search for programs by name or by description of their functions.
Each application's card contains a description, screenshots, and the size of the program. From the card, you can immediately install, uninstall, or launch the application, as well as go to the project website or the Red Soft Knowledge Base.
A separate section is designed to manage already installed applications, where you can launch, uninstall, and update programs. Available operating system updates are also displayed in this section.
As a reminder, Red OS 8 is a Russian general-purpose Linux operating system for servers and workstations. The product is certified by the FSTEC of Russia and is included in the Register of Russian Software of the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia.
