Previously, these bicycles were only available to delivery personnel of Yandex's city services.
Yandex has launched B2B rentals of its own safe electric bicycles for couriers of other delivery services. The first partner was Ozon fresh, which rented a thousand "Yandex Bikes" for couriers in Moscow.
The bicycles are equipped with a safe battery, a 240 W motor, and an IoT module that limits the speed to 25 km/h. They are adapted for use with thermal bags and comply with GOST R 71894-2024, which sets technical requirements and testing methods for such equipment.
Currently, more than 14,000 couriers across Russia use "Yandex Bikes" daily. Partner couriers can rent a bicycle for the long term at Yandex Eats city bicycle centers or Yandex Lavka darkstores. The company plans to develop rentals in Moscow and other cities, expanding the functionality of transport for couriers.
