The "Neuro-Lawyer" service has introduced a feature that allows for quick analysis of documents for risks associated with the change in VAT rate from 20% to 22% starting January 1, 2026.
The "VAT 2026 Risk Analysis" function checks up to 10 documents in a few minutes, including contracts, additional agreements, and offers in text format and PDF. The service highlights VAT-related wording, compiles a table listing such wording, and provides a conclusion on possible risks for the company. Roman Yankovsky, Development Manager of "Neuro-Lawyer" at Yandex, explained:
For Russian entrepreneurs, the new VAT rate means revising the terms of dozens, hundreds of contracts with suppliers and customers. Manual verification of each document by a lawyer will take 20–30 minutes. But now you can check documents many times faster without losing quality.
"Neuro-Lawyer" is Yandex's AI assistant, trained to answer legal questions with references to the "Garant" legal reference system in various areas of law, including labor, corporate, information, contract, and advertising law, as well as legislation on consumer protection and intellectual property. In addition, the service can work with user files and allows you to create your own knowledge bases. Yandex launched "Neuro-Lawyer" in November 2025.
