В России создали технологию для автоматической инспекции грузовых контейнеров с помощью AR-очков

Smart Engines scientists have created a system for automatically inspecting cargo containers using augmented reality glasses. The new tool allows identifying numbers and security seals on containers without manual checks. Logistics industry employees and customs officers will be able to quickly obtain information about the owner, type of equipment, serial number, dimensions, and country of registration.

The AI-based system built into smart glasses automatically recognizes data even in difficult conditions: in low light, dust, or extreme shooting angles. In addition to container numbers, the technology recognizes engraving on the rod and body of ISO 17712 standard seals.

Integration with augmented reality glasses, mobile phones, and tablets makes the technology especially useful for employees working in high-workload conditions.

“We have created a modern tool that sets a new standard in the logistics industry. The new technology automates logistics procedures and customs inspections and significantly speeds up the provision of surveying services at all stages of cargo transportation,” notes Vladimir Arlazarov, General Director of Smart Engines, Doctor of Technical Sciences.

The ability to integrate with AR glasses and other devices is realized through high algorithmic optimization of the technology. The system can be run in a browser, on a server, and on any device, including smartphones and tablets, without using a GPU. The solution is part of Smart Code Engine software for recognizing bank card data, phone numbers, car numbers, linear and matrix barcodes, as well as machine-readable zones of passports and visas (MRZ). The software product is included in the register of Russian programs and belongs to the AI class.
