Russia is among the world leaders in the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI). The average level of application of advanced technologies in key sectors of the economy today exceeds 32%. However, despite such optimistic indicators, some entrepreneurs still have a fear of making mistakes when using innovative tools and wasting the budget. Egor Muravyov, Product Director at Proscom, helped us to figure out in which cases "digital intelligence" will help reduce costs and increase profits.
Trends in AI usage
Artificial intelligence allows you to speed up business processes, save labor and financial resources, and optimize the work of employees. In addition, advanced technologies improve the quality of customer service and help achieve the targets necessary for the effective development of commercial activities. All this is achieved through delegating part of the work to modern technologies, advanced analytics and minimizing the number of errors caused by the human factor.
The introduction of AI allows you to optimize the company's work. In particular, new technologies can facilitate:
- document management;
- security;
- production;
- marketing, sales, analytics;
- service operations;
- personnel management;
- supply chain management.
There are implemented scenarios for the use of AI for each of these functions. Often it is necessary to see how others do it, economically justify it and repeat their example.
"Smart" technologies are used almost everywhere. For example, in logistics, they automate warehousing systems, coordinate delivery processes and optimize routes. In marketing and retail, innovative tools conduct market research and identify the target audience, as well as analyze the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. AI is increasingly used in such a field far from IT as agriculture: services reduce uneconomical consumption of resources and loss of harvest, identify weeds and help in soil management.
How and what to implement
According to data from experts at the Higher School of Economics (HSE), approximately two-thirds of Russian organizations are testing AI technologies and analyzing their capabilities for business. The most popular products are video analytics, generative tools and intelligent management systems.
To implement AI, you need to build a phased strategy that may include the following steps:
- Determine what AI will be used for and how. The more specific the goal and task, the greater the chances of successful implementation. At this stage check the availability of data. Most of the time and effort is spent on collecting and processing them.
- Assemble a team of specialists. It should bring different ideas and points of view, so it is important to hire employees taking into account different demographic and social factors. At the same time, determine the methodology for implementing the tool. Focus on the hypothesis and test it to determine the most significant variables or features.
- Develop a methodology for testing the implemented technology. Defining indicators of effectiveness will help in evaluating, comparing and analyzing the results of algorithms. After conducting various tests, you need to choose whether to leave the new tool and develop it, or return to the previous practice. To make the right decision, it is necessary to calculate the financial feasibility of each of the options.
- If you decide to leave the innovation, automate the work with data. In the future, do not forget to update the AI tool. After the model has been published and deployed for use, it must be constantly monitored to be updated as needed.
One of the most striking examples of the effective use of "smart" technologies is Sber. In 2024, the company plans to earn from the introduction of AI 450 billion rubles. In addition, Yandex is more actively using innovative developments than many others. The corporation is confident that by 2028 the economic effect of artificial intelligence may amount to 6.9 trillion rubles, and the market volume of solutions for business based on such innovations will exceed 550 billion rubles.
Among the main barriers to the more widespread use of innovative tools remains the lack of budget and the fear of making mistakes at the testing stage, as well as a lack of understanding of how to assess the real effect from them. To exchange experience in implementing "smart" technologies in business processes and compare the most effective strategies for their implementation, representatives of technology companies and startups will gather in Moscow at the "BRICS Future Forum. Cloud Cities". It is expected that the event will be attended by over 5 thousand people from the Middle East, Asia, Latin America, Africa and the CIS.
Thus, the revolution of new technologies in business processes not only opens up new opportunities for growth and innovation, but also poses the task of their rational use. From the moment of its appearance, machine intelligence has caused both admiration and fear. Today we are on the threshold of a new era in which AI is beginning to really influence economic processes. Therefore, it is time for every entrepreneur to figure out exactly how innovations can serve his business for the benefit.
