The Federal Public Institution "GosTech" and Basis, a leading Russian developer of tools for organizing dynamic infrastructure, announce that all state information systems located in data centers in Skolkovo and St. Petersburg have been transferred to a unified virtualization environment "Basis".
Basis solutions ensure the operation of the dynamic infrastructure of state information systems (GIS) and services on the GosTech platform, including services of Rosreestr, the "Social Treasury," and the National Spatial Data System (NSDS). The infrastructure created by the company consists of tens of thousands of virtual machines. Geographically, the systems operating on the unified virtualization environment "Basis" are deployed in GosTech data processing centers, certified to the highest level of security.
The virtual environments created by Basis products are based on the flagship of the Basis Dynamix ecosystem — a high-performance platform for managing virtual servers and containers, supporting Kubernetes deployment automation and the Infrastructure-as-Code approach.
Basis Virtual Security provides protection for the critical virtual infrastructure, and together, both products form the so-called infrastructure layer. Higher-level services are also built on Basis products; for example, the Basis Digital Energy DevOps platform ensures secure IS development and testing. "The cooperation between Basis and the GosTech platform began more than two years ago, when the issue of the country's technological sovereignty became acute, and we had to accelerate the replacement of foreign software in information systems. Now our main task is to ensure the platform's fault tolerance, and therefore, the availability of public mass information services for citizens and businesses. The platform's capabilities are constantly growing, new information systems are being added, and in these conditions, Basis's certified infrastructure software helps us solve this problem," commented Vasily Slyshkin, Director of the Federal Public Institution "GosTech."
"Partnership with GosTech on import substitution of foreign software in key Russian GIS is one of the most important projects for us. This is both a professional challenge for our technical team and a huge responsibility, because millions of people use government services every day. To justify the trust placed in us, we are making serious efforts: the Basis ecosystem is based on our own proprietary solutions, the code of which is written from scratch using modern methods of secure development. Our products fully meet the requirements of the state in terms of reliability and security, including FSTEC certification for use on CII facilities. In total, more than 120 state information systems and services currently operate on Basis solutions," noted David Martirosov, CEO of Basis.
