Tantor Labs (part of Astra Group) announces the release of a new version of the modular platform for administration and monitoring of DBMS based on PostgreSQL, Tantor 3.0.
Key updates include support for integration and management of Patroni clusters. The Patroni software tool is used to ensure high availability and fault tolerance of PostgreSQL databases by automatically switching to backup nodes in the event of a failure or outage of the primary node. This ensures a high level of availability and automatic management of PostgreSQL databases. Today, it is an indispensable tool for enterprises that need to ensure the uninterrupted operation of their applications and services, enabling them to maintain data integrity and avoid data loss.
Integration with the Patroni application is implemented through the PatroniAPI interface, making the deployment and management of clusters much easier for Tantor 3.0 platform users. The new version offers the following features:
- management of the Patroni cluster lifecycle through a graphical interface;
- ready-made set of metrics, graphs, and triggers for monitoring cluster status;
- receiving alerts about abnormal situations in the instance (database server), alerts in case of cluster instance unavailability, replication lag, and other incidents.
The Tantor 3.0 platform adds a new CLUSTERS tab to the Overview menu, which displays all clusters in the workspace and demonstrates service information and cluster configuration (total logical CPU cores and RAM, used/total disk space, number of instances directly in the cluster).
It is also worth noting that the release implements a new menu for working with clusters, allowing you to view detailed information about the operation of each instance in the cluster. It can be initialized, started, and stopped. Platform users also have access to functions for monitoring the operation of the cluster as a whole and the instances that are part of it.
"In our work on our solution, we always focus on current market demands and feedback from customer companies. These two points help us develop the product and improve its functionality. In particular, the Tantor 3.0 platform release includes support for integration and management of Patroni clusters, – comments Vadim Yatsenko, CEO of Tantor Labs. – The Tantor platform development roadmap is structured in such a way as to expand the ability of our products to work in the ecosystem of Russian software developers with each update and to implement improvements that enhance the quality and usability of the existing functionality."
