The update includes the Axiom Spring framework and the Libercat application server

Astra Group has released GitFlic 5.0.0 — a new version of the DevOps platform, in which the Java stack has been migrated to Russian solutions. The update uses the Axiom Spring framework from Axiom JDK and the Libercat application server, which replaced Apache Tomcat.

Axiom Spring was created as a domestic version of Spring Framework and supports LTS branches Spring 5.x and 6.x, as well as Spring Boot 2.7.x and 3.x. Version support has been extended until 2029. This is relevant for Russian companies, a significant part of which continues to use Spring, including Spring Boot 2.x releases with expired international support.

According to the developers, the transition to Axiom Spring ensures regular release of security updates and allows to abandon dependence on a foreign vendor. The framework is built according to the industrial development and support process for Russian software.

GitFlic notes that the transition to Axiom Spring and Libercat has made the platform's Java stack compliant with import substitution requirements. The solution operates in a Java environment certified by FSTEC of Russia and is supported by a Russian vendor in Russian. This should simplify the implementation of the platform in the public sector and regulated industries.
