RTK-TsOD, a full-cycle IT service provider, has launched a comprehensive modernization of the engineering infrastructure of its data center network. The work will be carried out using a "hot-swap" principle, which will allow equipment and systems to be updated without reducing the quality of service delivery and without impacting client SLA (Service Level Agreement).
The modernization program is scheduled for the period from 2026 to 2029 and covers key components of the company's data center engineering infrastructure. Within just six months, more than one hundred external condenser units, as well as chillers and uninterruptible power supplies, will be replaced at the sites. This will help eliminate the risks of accidents in the data center engineering infrastructure, including during the most challenging time of the year for all data centers – hot summer. New climate control equipment will relieve excessive load from the existing groups of refrigeration machines.
The modernization methodology developed by RTK-TsOD technical specialists involves replacing critical nodes without affecting the temperature regime and power supply in the machine rooms. For this purpose, a number of solutions are provided that ensure the preservation of the system's design redundancy throughout the entire work cycle. This approach will allow for seamless modernization without reducing the availability parameters of client services.
