The solution is used by over 50 million Russians.

The Russian company Smart Engines has released an updated version of its payment automation system – Smart Code Engine 2.9. The technology has already been implemented in the mobile applications of leading banks in the country, including Alfa-Bank and VTB.

The new version received a number of key improvements. The processing speed of payment barcodes (QR codes) increased by 28%, and the number of false positives when recognizing phone numbers decreased fivefold.

The system combines various data input methods into a single interface. The user simply needs to point the smartphone camera at the object – be it a QR code, a bank card, or a phone number. Artificial intelligence automatically determines the object type, extracts the necessary details, and launches the required payment or transfer scenario. In addition, the technology can read complex identifiers such as INN, KPP, and BIK, even if they are not encrypted as a barcode, which eliminates manual data entry.

The developers also enhanced the stability and security of the solution. The system has learned to work effectively with small fonts and read bank card details with flat printing (freeform), as well as recognize mirrored PDF417 barcodes, which are often found in European bank receipts.

All calculations occur entirely on the user's device or within the customer's infrastructure. Data is not transmitted to external cloud services. The product is included in the Register of Russian Software of the Russian Ministry of Digital Development.
