Manufacturer Ippon has introduced the Na+ Frosty line of uninterruptible power supplies, consisting of five models with power ratings from 650 to 2000 VA. The main feature of the new products is the use of sodium-ion batteries instead of traditional lead-acid batteries.

Sodium batteries can withstand up to 2000 deep discharge cycles, while lead-acid batteries lose efficiency after only 300–500 cycles. This allows the UPS service life to be increased by 4–5 times without the need to replace batteries.

Ippon noted that the name "Frosty" emphasizes the ability of the devices to operate at low temperatures. The batteries retain up to 80% of their capacity at -20°C and operate in the range from -40°C to +80°C. Sodium-ion batteries do not require regular recharging during warehouse storage and tolerate months of inactivity well.

Na+ Frosty batteries charge up to 90% in one hour, which is critical in unstable power supply conditions. The cold start function allows you to start equipment from batteries when the power is completely off.

Each model is equipped with four battery-backed outlets and two RJ-45 ports to protect the data line. The built-in voltage regulator smooths out surges and dips without switching to backup power, preserving the life of the elements. Models with a capacity of 1500 and 2000 VA have a liquid crystal screen for displaying information about load, voltage and capacity.
