According to the OCS analytical center, the Russian segment of modular and container data centers amounted to 5 billion rubles at the end of 2024. Analysts expect it to increase to 32 billion rubles in the next five years, with annual growth of up to 10%.
Taking into account industry specifics, the potential audience of customers for modular and container data centers in Russia is about 8 thousand enterprises.
The rapid growth of data volumes in business has a great impact on the development of the segment. According to an OCS survey, every third company (32%) with up to 500 units of computing equipment within the perimeter expects an increase in the amount of corporate information by at least 10% by the end of the year. At the same time, for businesses with 50–250 devices, the share of such responses reaches 48%. A significant part of the target audience of modular and container data centers is now looking for solutions to scale the fleet of servers and data storage systems.
According to OCS experts, domestic players occupy most of the MCDC and KCDC segment today: Datark, GreenMDC, NoTherm and other companies. Businesses primarily choose Russian manufacturers.
Modular and container data centers are mobile engineering structures that include everything necessary for the functioning of computing equipment: server racks, cooling and power supply systems, and so on. In the first case, the solution is a set of individual blocks that can be assembled like a construction set, and in the second, it is a container ready for operation.
