The Russian company Systeme Electric, a manufacturer of integrated solutions in the field of power distribution and automation, has signed the Climate Memorandum "Together Towards a Low-Carbon Future," developed by Severstal to support global efforts to prevent further climate change.
Along with Systeme Electric, other new partners have joined the Climate Memorandum – the UN Global Compact National Network, the Lenta retail chain, and Power Machines.
According to Alexey Kashaev, General Director of Systeme Electric, environmental care and sustainable development are the most important principles of the company's activities. The signing of the Climate Memorandum with Severstal serves as confirmation of Systeme Electric's comprehensive and responsible approach to sustainable development.
“We prioritize quality management of production processes at our enterprises. Starting in 2023, Systeme Electric is implementing a multi-year program to modernize our facilities to increase production volumes while maintaining the same level of electricity consumption. Our common goal is to implement technologies that minimize the impact on climate and the environment. We are convinced that joint efforts with Severstal will make a significant contribution to environmental protection,” emphasized Alexey Kashaev.
Severstal, as one of the largest steel producers in Russia, is actively working to reduce its carbon footprint. We not only strive to minimize our emissions, but also attract new partners to cooperate in this area. We are pleased that more and more companies and organizations are joining our initiative, sharing our concern about climate change. We will continue to expand our circle of partners by attracting environmentally responsible companies that are actively working to reduce their impact on the environment,” said Alexander Shevelev, General Director of Severstal.
