A brief power outage can lead to data loss, downtime, and costly repairs. Ippon, a manufacturer of power protection equipment, has announced the release of the Pacific II 1U UPS – a compact solution for uninterrupted operation of IT systems. The line is presented in three modifications: 500, 700, and 1000 VA.
The Pacific II 1U delivers a pure sine wave signal and stable power supply, suitable for organizations with limited server room space. The model is designed in a 19″ format and is comparable in size to the archival Ippon Smart Winner 1U model. The mounting depth of 230 or 389 mm allows the device to be installed in small cabinets from 400 mm, including wall-mounted ones. At the same time, a power factor of 0.9 guarantees increased energy efficiency among analogues.
Despite its compact size, the new line-interactive UPS has not only basic USB and RS-232 ports for control and monitoring, but also a slot for installing SNMP cards and an EPO emergency shutdown connector. In addition, unlike the previous model, the Pacific II 1U is equipped with additional port protection functions. For example, the built-in RJ-45 module prevents damage to network equipment due to impulse voltage surges, static electricity, and electromagnetic interference in data transmission lines.
“The Pacific II 1U UPS is an excellent choice for modern server and telecommunication systems,” notes Alexander Nikitin, Ippon Product Director. “The combination of advanced features and enhanced protection makes this device a reliable component of IT infrastructure in confined spaces.”
The UPS is suitable for protecting rack servers, network equipment — routers, modems, PBXs, switches, optical converters — NAS file servers, video recorders, workstations with long battery life requirements, as well as equipment critical to the power signal waveform, providing a pure sine wave.
