The Wildberries marketplace, part of the RWB group, has begun testing a new logistics format. Now, a specific group of sellers can ship goods directly from customs to the marketplace's warehouses using "container deliveries."
This shipment arrangement is available in the seller's personal account at the second step of creating a delivery. As Ekaterina Sotnik, Director of Seller and Key Client Services Development at RWB, explained, the innovation allows "to remove one logistics leg."
Previously, entrepreneurs had to transport goods to their own or rented warehouse for repacking and pallet formation, which incurred additional time and financial costs. Direct container delivery is designed to reduce time and expenses.
In the coming months, the company plans to scale the project, providing access to the service to more partners. Expansion of the new option's capabilities is also planned.
