The company published a document stating that from June 30, 2025, registration of new sellers would be impossible without opening an account at "Wildberries Bank", and previously joined entrepreneurs would not be able to continue working on the marketplace, and access to their personal accounts would be limited.
The FAS of Russia considered that the planned behavior of Wildberries may contain signs of violation of the law on protection of competition and issued a warning to the platform. Wildberries considered the warning and adjusted the process of checking new sellers, as well as the clauses of the offer regarding the registration of new sellers on the platform and opening accounts at "Wildberries Bank" for new partners.
Wildberries clarified:
The new process for checking sellers registering on Wildberries will be carried out without opening a bank account. At the same time, in order to increase the level of security of interaction between Wildberries and sellers of the platform, a more thorough check will remain a requirement when registering new counterparties.
The check will be carried out, including on the side of "Wildberries Bank", since the bank has the resources for a more comprehensive assessment of counterparties, including for AML/CFT (anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism). At the same time, the opening of bank accounts or the provision of any banking services as part of such a check is not expected.
