In 2023, every ruble invested in artificial intelligence generated approximately 7 rubles, and now it's 8 rubles.
Alexander Vedyakhin, First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank:
"For loans to small and micro businesses, we plan to achieve 100 percent AI coverage by 2026. However, there are many tasks that require human judgment and experience, which AI systems at the current level of development cannot provide. For example, this includes approving large loans or providing complex structured products for clients. Artificial intelligence can complement the decision-making process in these areas, but it is still difficult for it to bear sole responsibility for them, meaning the final decision remains with a human."
Noting that the newest trend now is LLM models (large language models), Alexander Vedyakhin drew attention to the fact that there is no business model that brings such projects to full payback in a short time, which is quite normal for every new technology.
At the same time, it is important to understand that artificial intelligence is much broader than just LLM models, and those artificial intelligence technologies that have already been well-tested and are used quite often bring significant profits.
Alexander Vedyakhin stated that Sber will continue to invest in the development of this area, noting that artificial intelligence technologies are needed for Sber's clients and for all of Russia.
