Orion soft company released version 2.6 of the Termit terminal access and VDI platform. The main change was its own data transfer protocol, Pulsar, designed for remote desktops and applications to work with unstable connections.
The developers created the protocol from scratch and implemented parallel transmission of images, sound, and control commands. Pulsar supports Linux systems, printer connections, text and file exchange via clipboard, and Kerberos authentication. Currently, the protocol is available as an additional connection option for Linux. In Q1 2027, it is expected to replace X2Go, and later become the primary solution for Windows and web clients.
Termit 2.6 also introduced an extended role model with the ability to create custom access levels. The system received contextual connection control, passwordless authentication via smart cards and Kerberos, as well as the ability to configure the order of authentication factors.
For administrators, scheduled power management and automation of planned operations were added. Updating templates in zVirt no longer requires recreating the virtual machine pool. Users gained the ability to transfer an active session between devices, allowing them to continue working when changing computers.
