RTK-TSOD and "IT School Rostelecom" presented a flexible infrastructure model for the development of the digital environment of universities

RTK-TSOD, a full-cycle IT service provider, and "IT School Rostelecom" have systematized the experience of implementing the "Cloud for Universities" project from "Turbo Cloud" and developed a comprehensive infrastructure model ready for scaling in educational institutions across the country.

The solution is designed to accelerate the automation and digitalization of educational processes in a ready-made secure IT environment. A key feature of RTK-TSOD's offering is the combination of resources from its own data center network and advanced services from its subsidiary "Turbo Cloud".

The infrastructure complex for universities includes resources from RTK-TSOD's geographically distributed Tier III data center network, ensuring physical data integrity and fault tolerance. The model includes an attested cloud platform "KII Cloud", which allows universities to host personal data information systems up to the first level of protection inclusive. The solution is complemented by "Turbo Cloud" cloud services – universities are provided with data storage and management platforms that allow organizing a unified repository of information, scientific works, and digital libraries. "Turbo Cloud" also provides educational institutions with access to AI services for machine learning tasks and research projects.

The model has been tested in projects for leading higher educational institutions in the country, such as Novosibirsk State University of Economics and Management (NSUEM). The accumulated experience has made it possible to form typical scenarios for migration, information security, and the provision of high-performance computing resources, which are now available to all universities as a ready-made, replicable solution.

"The infrastructure model we created is a constructor that allows a university to quickly start digital transformation, relying on the capacities of a federal-level provider. The university can choose the configuration it needs: from basic virtual infrastructure with backup to advanced AI services using graphic accelerators. This approach gives educational institutions the opportunity to flexibly increase IT capacities, avoid overpaying for resources not in demand at the initial stage, reduce the time for implementing new digital services from several years to several weeks, and also optimize costs by switching from capital expenditures to operating expenses," said David MARTIROSOV, CEO of RTK-TSOD.

"IT School Rostelecom" has already accumulated serious expertise in working with the academic community: today we have more than 95 partnerships with universities, and 70 of them have already shown interest in cloud infrastructure. We see that higher educational institutions need ready-made, reliable, and secure tools to solve applied problems – from conducting admission campaigns to organizing distance learning and scientific computing. The RTK-TSOD infrastructure model for universities allows universities across the country – from metropolitan to regional – to access the same technologies used by market leaders. We, in turn, are ready to provide universities with additional opportunities for pilot projects to assess how the migration of digital solutions to our platform increases the efficiency of educational and administrative processes based on real tasks. Experience shows: when cloud services and educational programs work in conjunction, students master in-demand skills faster, and universities strengthen their technological potential," noted Vladimir TATARINTSEV, Director for Strategic Projects Development at Rostelecom, Director of "IT School Rostelecom".
