Forum and Award in Digital Solutions for the Fuel and Energy Sector: Sharing Practices and Recognizing Best Projects

On September 10-11, 2026, the XII Federal Forum on IT and Digital Technologies for the Russian Fuel and Energy Sector, Smart Oil & Gas, will be held in St. Petersburg. This platform provides a direct discussion on how to truly digitalize the fuel and energy complex: from implementing IT systems to industrial automation and information security.

The forum gathers decision-makers: heads of digital transformation in industry companies, top managers of system integrators, software developers, representatives of state institutions, and industry experts. The program includes plenary discussions, thematic sessions, master classes, and workshops: here, the focus is not on abstractions, but on real challenges and the exchange of practical experience.

Last year, the forum brought together over 1000 specialists (about 800 of whom attended in person), more than 230 companies, and over 100 speakers. The business program featured more than ten thematic sessions, including a plenary discussion, as well as practical formats for developing solutions.

The event is held offline. Free registration is provided for companies in the fuel and energy complex (energy resource extraction, transportation, and processing, energy generation and distribution) based on a quota.

In parallel, applications are being accepted for the XVII Fyodor Pryadunov Award "Best Digital Solutions for the Oil and Gas Industry." Its goal is not just to award, but to create a transparent database of best practices so that successful solutions can be scaled across the industry. A unique feature of the award is the recognition of a "Customer – Performer" pair: this emphasizes that good digital projects are born through partnership.

In 2026, the organizers emphasize domestic projects and divide them into three thematic blocks: "Business Cycle: From Exploration to Refueling," "Technological Transformation," and "Infrastructure, Security, and People." These blocks include a wide range of nominations – from digitalization of exploration and production to the implementation of domestic ERP and MES systems, the use of AI and Big Data, solutions in cybersecurity, labor protection, HR tools, and environmental safety.

Important: the final number of nominations will be determined after all applications have been received. If any nomination has fewer than two projects, it will be excluded, and the submitted projects will be reallocated to other categories. The organizing committee reserves the right to move projects for better thematic representation.

Projects completed in 2025–2026 or that reached a key implementation stage during this period are accepted for participation. Mandatory conditions are clearly formulated goals and measurable results.

Projects are evaluated by a jury consisting of editors and observers from ComNews.ru, "Digital Economy" portals, and the ComNews Research analytical agency. Evaluation criteria include innovation and complexity of the solution, significance for the enterprise and industry, replicability, economic efficiency (including profitability improvement), transparency of implementation, and compatibility with domestic operating systems.

Applications can be submitted by managers and specialists in digital technologies and innovations, representatives of client companies, software developers, providers of digital solutions, and system integrators who have implemented projects for fuel and energy sector enterprises.

The submission and processing of the first application from one organization are free. The second and subsequent applications cost 35,000 rubles each. One organization can submit an unlimited number of applications.

The official award ceremony for the laureates will take place on September 10 as part of the Smart Oil & Gas forum at the Hilton St. Petersburg Expoforum hotel (St. Petersburg, Peterburgskoye Shosse, 62, building 1).

Applications for the award are accepted until August 21, 2026, inclusive.
