Russian developer NTC IT "ROSA" has prepared tools for automated assembly of IMG images of the ROSA 13 operating system, designed for "Irtysh" processors from "Tramplin Electronics".
Specialists also successfully launched the OS on a test platform with an "Irtysh C616" processor based on the LoongArch architecture and checked the operation of the main system components. During the tests, correct loading of the operating system was confirmed, software requirements were determined, and it was established that the current hardware configuration requires a Linux kernel version 6.18 or newer to operate.
For preliminary debugging, LoongArch architecture emulation based on QEMU was used, and tools for automating systemd-boot loader verification and testing new builds were created.
The prepared image is primarily focused on server tasks, but tests confirmed the possibility of launching a graphical environment. The test system checked the operation of the Hyprland window manager with the Alacritty terminal and the LXQt environment. The developed tools will accelerate the preparation of new OS images, expand hardware support, and continue adapting the software platform for the "Irtysh" family of processors.
