Extended support for Astra Linux Server prolonged to nine years

The developer "Group Astra" announced a significant increase in the lifecycle of the Astra Linux server OS to nine years. The new approach is designed to reduce costs and risks for corporate users.

Thus, instead of the previous five years of support, the lifecycle now includes a nine-year period during which long-term support (LTS) service will be available. This will allow organizations to less frequently undertake costly and complex transitions to new system versions.

The support model now consists of three stages: three years of active development, three years of standard support, and three years of extended LTS service. This approach gives companies flexibility in planning their IT strategy, allowing them to use a stable and proven OS version for longer. According to Astra Linux Server product manager Denis Krivosheya, this reduces the total cost of ownership of the infrastructure and increases its stability, which is especially important for the public sector and industrial enterprises.
