Yandex Tracker Launches Resource Planning Tools

The Yandex 360 team has released an update to its proprietary Tracker service for task planning and project and process management. The key innovation is a resource planning tool that visualizes employee workload using interactive diagrams. The system allows for accounting for vacations and sick leaves, providing managers with an objective picture of overloads and helping to find available resources for new tasks.

The concept of queues in Tracker has been redesigned: now it is not just a task list, but a full-fledged workspace. Each queue by default includes a "Statistics" widget with data on overdue and unassigned tasks, as well as their completion dynamics. Users can customize the queue page by adding the necessary boards and dashboards as pre-configured tabs.

To enhance control, administrators can now restrict queue creation, allowing this operation only for themselves or for all users. Privacy settings have also been strengthened: the status of goals (public or private) is now explicitly set, and access to public goals is read-only by default.

The history of automatic trigger activations has become more informative. It now records the launch date, and in case of HTTP request errors, codes and the request body are displayed to simplify debugging.

New field types have appeared in tasks: "Duration" (to specify terms in weeks, days, hours) and "Money" with support for 30 currencies. The extended version of the money field allows setting an employee's rate, which simplifies financial calculations within projects.

Email integration has become smarter: when creating tasks from emails, HTML formatting, including formatting and images, is now fully preserved. The Tracker mobile application has also received an update with dashboard support for monitoring metrics from a smartphone.

In addition to Tracker, updates have affected Yandex Wiki and Forms. In Wiki, the logic for deleting pages has been redesigned (they are now deleted along with all subpages) and comments have been added in collaborative editing mode. For all three services, specialized administrator roles have been introduced, allowing them to be managed without granting global access rights.
